Who We Are

The North Texas Foster Care Consortium is a coalition of organizations and individuals committed to improving the well-being of children who are in out-of-home care and at risk of removal.

What We Do

The members of the Consortium foster communication, collaboration and information-sharing; promote innovation; share and develop resources and advocate for policies and laws consistent with our mission.

Presentation Slides from the May 3rd meeting

The Consortium meeting on May 3rd brought nearly 100 members together in person for the first time in more than three years. Highlighting the meeting were presentations by Linda Garcia, on Empower and the CBC rollout in additional North Texas counties, along with Courtney Leaverton from Our Community, Our Kids (OC-OK) who shared some excellent performance data on how CBC is doing in our western counties.

George Cannata and Afton Rutherford from the office of Community Based Care Transitions gave updates on Community-Based Care in North Texas.

We have the CBC slide presentations available for you HERE.

State of the State Report

The TexProtects Annual State of the State Report has been released. This report is published each year to provide an updated, in-depth analysis of the current state of the child protection system in Texas and how the state compares nationally.  The report provides critical insights into the current state of the child protection system in Texas, including challenges faced by families and kinship support.

We are updating our name!

To help our communities better understand the area served by the Consortium, we are updating our name from the Region 3 Foster Care Consortium to the North Texas Foster Care Consortium. You will see these changes here on our website as well as in our updated logo. The communities we serve are still the counties referred to by the Department of Family and Protective Services as Region 3, which you can read more about here on our County Map.
